“I’ve been drawing since I was a little girl. My mom said I would draw pictures on the wall behind furniture, and she would find them when she moved the furniture around. I took AP art in high school, and that’s when I learned how to paint. My paintings got first place at my high school art show.
“I’m currently a senior going into my last semester at Kent State University. I’m majoring in sculpture, but I mostly do woodwork and ceramics. Then I’m off to get my masters in art education.
“I enjoy working with people. Each piece has to be a person. No abstract, just people. In the metal welding piece (shown in the far left case), the project was making people without using faces. I had to summarize the person’s entity without using their face. I rely on faces to much, so I relied just on clothing.”
“To be a safe driver you have to be a defensive driver. You have to anticipate what others on the road are going to do. It’s a gift in my mind and my colleagues feel the same way. You have to be constantly looking, have straight vision and also peripheral vision.”
“I’m a new grandfather to my 15 month old grandson. I love it. I like to help others. I help my family with general labor… landscaping and stuff they need done around the house.”
“I usually take the #1 to the Transit Center then take the DASH to campus. My boyfriend and I share a car and if he has it I take the bus. When my car broke down a few weeks ago, I took the bus everywhere. It was EASY and FREE.”
