Do you know what the “RKP” in “RKP Transit Center” means?
They are the initials of Robert K. Pfaff, former METRO executive director who passed away in July of 2012.
Bob, a dedicated public servant and a tireless advocate for METRO passengers and our community, preferred to work behind-the-scenes. Always one to shy away from the limelight; when he learned the transit center he was instrumental in building would soon bear his name he said “Now, why would you want to go and name that place after and old fart like me?”
Well, why not, Bob?
